CSKA player condemned the ways of the Russian club on Instagram
The Donetsk-born big man shared on Instagram a letter from the club, urging to return to Moscow and honor the terms of his contracts.
“Get out of here! I already told you I am not coming back”. Your way of getting players to do what you want is by threatening them and trying to punish them. You told me and the whole team we can leave and you understand when the Russia/Ukraine situation escalated.”
Joel Bolomboy was one of the five players to flee the russian club with Tornike Shengelia, Gabriel Lundberg, Marius Grigonis, and Johannes Voigtmann. They did so after the violent outbreaks in Ukraine. Bolomboy, 28, produced 5.9 points, 4.1 rebounds, 0.7 blocks, 0.3 steals, and 0.3 assists per EuroLeague contest across 23 games in the 2021-22 season.
