The Argentinian guard was the main offensive threat to carry Barcelona past Bayern Munchen (81-72).

In a win-or-go-home situation, Barça could rely on Nicolas Laprovittola (26 points) and Nikola Mirotic (20 points, 5 rebounds). Lapprovitola was crucial in the third quarter by scoring 11 straight points for his team and giving them a 10-point lead.

On the German side, 35-year-old Othello Hunter led the charge with 18 points and 4 rebounds. He was assisted by Ognjen Jaramaz and his 17 units but Bayern ultimately fell short after heading up by 6 at half-time. Barça is the third club to join the Final Four after Efes Istanbul and Real Madrid.

After the game, Bayern coach Andrea Trinchieri did not seem to upset about the Game 5 loss,

“We can talk for hours about this mistake or that, but tonight we put together three unbelievable quarters playing above our limit and playing as hard as we can, the third quarter cost us the game. We tried to attack the rim, we never went to the line. The other factor was Laprovittola who tonight really put together an unbelievable performance. That’s it. I don’t feel depressed. I don’t feel overwhelmed by the situation. I have never been more proud of players and my team. There is also another team on the court and in the third quarter, Barca was a championship team and this is the reason they won the game.”

Barcelona will now face in semi-finals sworn enemy Real Madrid, who swept Maccabi Tel-Aviv in quarterfinals, on May 19.
