In the wake of Justin Simon (27 points), MHP Riesen climbs on the bottom of BCL podium (88-68).

Coach Patrick told in his halftime interview that Justin Simon wanted to be show that “he belongs in the best five of the tournament“. That’s what he did with his great performance (27 points – career high -, 6 rebounds, 6 assists) as he almost single-handedly put Holon away.

The game was already decided at halftime when Riesen led by a comfortable 13-point margin (42-29). Holon never seemed prepared as they had to cancel their practice the morning before the game. Their main offensive threat was Tyrus McGee off the bench with 14 points and is one of the only two Holon’s players in double-digit alongside Joe Ragland (11 points). McGee really had mixed feelings in his post-game interview,

“I am proud and disappointed, who likes to lose? We came here, we gave it our all. We made history for the club.”

A feeling shared by his coach Guy Goodes,

“The third-place games are among the toughest games to play. Unfortunately, I have been in this situation as a player. Not everybody can play this game, Ludwigsburg was more energetic and focused, playing its style in the game. We were kind of two or three steps behind.
