Nikola Mirotic (Barcelona) and coach Bartzokas (Olympiacos) claimed their awards of the Euroleague regular season.
In his third season with the Catalan club, the Spanish forward claimed his first MVP award. He averaged very impressive numbers : 16,7 points, 5,1 rebounds and shooting 57,9% from the field and 45% from 3-points. He led Barcelona to the first seed during the regular season. Nikola Mirotic was also named in the first All-EuroLeague Team. He will face his former team, Real Madrid, in the semifinal, as they are looking to reach the final this season, like they did last year.
Georgios Bartzokas has been named coach of the year in EuroLeague. It’s the second time that he wins this award, after the one that he won in 2013. Olympiakos finished the regular season just behind Barcelona, and are still competing in the playoffs after beating Monaco in 5 games in quarterfinals. Bartzokas came back in Greece in 2020, where he already won the Euroleague title with Olympiakos back in 2013.
