After a disappointing loss, the Spanish forward reflected about the game against Real Madrid and how this was heartbreaking.
On Thursday, Nikola Mirotic probably played his best match in Euroleague through his entire career. The Spanish forward, named Most Valuable Player in regular season, finished the game with a huge double-double, 26 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. Unfortunately, it was not enough to get the win and a ticket for the rematch of the 2020-2021 Euroleague final against Anadolu Efes.
“It was obviously a sad moment. Right now, we have to keep our heads up and try to think about what’s still in front of us. There’s still one title left that we need to fight for. We know what we represent, and we have to do it.”

“I knew the importance of the game, I knew we were playing in Belgrade, the city that I love. My family and the whole crowd were watching me, so I wanted to give my best. Yes, it was a great performance but not enough to win. So, it doesn’t matter.”

However, the Spanish star still has faith in this Barcelona team. They are still on track to win the ACB playoffs, and of course, take the last spot on the podium this Saturday, against Olympiakos.
“This game is also important for our confidence, getting in a better shape. Important weeks are coming ahead of us. We have playoffs next week, and we’ll try to use this game in the best way possible”
