After his last season in the NBA, with the Los Angeles Lakers, the Spanish legend decided to came back in his native country. He is now playing in second division for Girona.
Since December 2021, he is competing with Girona. He has played 20 games, and won 16 of them. He averaged 14.8 points, 8.6 rebounds, 2.9 assists, while shooting 56.3 % from the field and 46.2 % from downtown. He led his team to the fourth in the LEB Oro. The first seed is automatically promoted to the first division. Now, teams between the second and ninth seed have to play a playoff tournament. The winner is send to the ACB League.
Marc Gasol is known internationally as he played 14 seasons in the NBA, where he has been named Defensive Player of The Year in 2013 and a Championship in 2019 with the Toronto Raptors. During his career with his National Team, he won four gold medals, 2 in Eurobasket in 2009 and 2011, 2 in FIBA World Championship in 2006 and 2019.
