The hierarchy has been respected so far in the BBL as the four first seeds qualified for the semi-finals. Alba Berlin and Bayern took the lead in their respective series in the semifinals.
Alba Berlin has won the first two games of the series against Ludwigsburg. They are now on an impressive streak, winning 15 games in a row. During the first game, both teams went right down to the wire, as Alba Berlin, despite winning all the four quarters, only won by 5 points. It was mainly a team effort, 10 players scored at least a basket. The American trio composed by Jordan Hulls, James Woodward and Tremmell Darden combined for 65 points, 10 boards and 9 dimes but it wasn’t enough to get the win. Game 2 was a flawless victory for Alba Berlin, winning by 24 points, shooting 43.3 % behind the arc and generating 35 free-throw attempts. They are now up 2-0 in the series, and they only need one win to reach the final.
Bayern took the first game against the second seed. Despite a lower seeding, they are still the favorites to win this series. Vladimir Lucic finished the game as the leading scorer, with 19 points. Both teams struggled from behind the arc, both shooting below 31%. The difference was mainly made on the free-throw line, Bayern was almost perfect from the line (17/18), while Bonn was only shooting 58%, on 17 attempts. Next game, on Monday !
