ASVEL won the game 3 pretty easily on Monday night (73-61). This was a one-sided series as JDA Dijon didn’t put enough resistance. ASVEL are waiting their opponent in the final. Monaco will have the opportunity to join them on Tuesday, if they win on the road against Pau-Lacq-Orthez.
This series was the remake of the final last year. Game 1 and Game 3 were not even close as ASVEL were respectively up by 32 and 20 at the half. The only tight game was game 2, in which Dijon were leading at the end of the third quarter, before being outscored 29-15 in the final quarter of the game. During those three games, ASVEL were up by a double digit at the end of the first half. Elie Okobo finished as the team top scorer in each games.
After a close first quarter, Elie Okobo drained the buzzer beater from downtown, and then Dijon completely disappeared. 25-10 in the second quarter, Dijon shot 3/17 in those minutes, while ASVEL were red hot, shooting 71% from the field in the first half. 13 assists for 13 turnovers, 36.5% from the field, some difficulties to go to the line, this Game 3 has been a disaster for the home team and not to best way to end this season in front of their fans.
ASVEL will have the home court advantage as they are the first seed. They will nine days to rest before the game 1 of Betclic Elite finals. There’s good chance they will face Monaco, who is up 2-0 in their series against Pau.
