According to Eurohoops, Nikola Mirotic (Barcelona) remains the highest paid player in Europe in a top 10 with three Anadolu Efes players.
After two peculiar years due to the pandemic, the Euroleague market is back to pretty much normal with major league players getting at least $2 million per season.
Shane Larkin, two-time defending champion with Anadolu Efes, is the big winner of the summer with a salary of $4 million per season. His teammate on the backcourt Vasilije Micic will earn $3.3 million.
The numbers are in dollars. Eurohoops points out that there is almost an equality between the 5th and the 10th place but also that the taxation is different from one country to another which makes the comparisons difficult.
” … If you want to compare it to NBA salaries, where half the money goes to the IRS, just multiply each Euroleague contract by two and you’ll get a pretty good idea.”
