After ten years in the NBA, Mike Scott (2.03 m, 34 years) launches his European career at SLUC Nancy, replacing the injured interior Donte Grantham.
Far from being a top star in the NBA, Mike Scott has a real calling card in the American league, with over 550 games to his credit. After an off year, the American preferred to leave the league and answered the offer of Nancéiens in need.
Formed at the University of Virginia from 2007 to 2012, Mike Scott spent nine seasons, including five with the Atlanta Hawks. The franchise, which drafted him 43rd in the 2012 Draft, was able to take advantage of the services of a physical and spectacular strong-winger. In a team located in the upper reaches of the Eastern Conference, Mike Scott held this role of energizer off the bench.
Over the years, Mike Scott has also proven to be a serious long-range shooter. In Philadelphia for two full seasons, he took advantage of this evolution of his game during his 17 average minutes on the floor. His final season in Pennsylvania (2020-21) was not impressive. He averaged 4.2 points on 36.0% shooting (including 34.2% from 3-point range) and 2.4 rebounds in 51 games played.
At 32 years old, he plans to make a comeback in the French league. That’s all we wish for him at the promoted Betclic Elite.
