AS Monaco’s American point guard Mike James (1.85m, 32 years old) is recognized as the Euroleague’s MVP of the month for October.
Despite playing four of his first five games on the road, many of them against stiff competition, Mike James guided Monaco to a record of 4 wins to 1 loss, and is the competition’s leading scorer at 21.4 points per game. He also finished the month second in the league in scoring at 22.8 per game.
James becomes the second player to be named Euroleague MVP of the Month four times. This is the second time he has earned this honor as a Monaco player, as he was named MVP of the Month in March 2022. Previously, he also won the trophy in February 2019 with Milan and in November 2021 with CSKA Moscow.
The American posted averages of 21.4 points (62.8% two-pointers and 80.6% from the free throw line), as well as 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and 1.8 steals in his first five games of the season. Decisive in the money times, Mike James has started his second season with the ambitious Roca Team in the best way possible. It would not be surprising if he won more nominations this year.
