Euroleague : Red Star Belgrade trusts its local players

As often in recent years, Red Star Belgrade is the team that gives the most responsibility to its local players, ahead of Zalgiris Kaunas and ASVEL.

According to a study by statistician Darius Garuolis, only one team plays more homegrown players than foreigners in the Euroleague: Red Star Belgrade (56.1%). Two other teams also stand out in this ranking: Zalgiris Kaunas (44.2%) and ASVEL (44.0%).

Note that the other French representative of the competition, Monaco, is in the soft underbelly (24%), its French players being considered local. Two teams are clearly down in this ranking, Baskonia Vitoria (4.3%) and the defending champion, Anadolu Efes Istanbul (3.7%).
